Hello Potential Volunteers:

Thanks for visiting our Fish Fry site and reviewing our volunteer information.  After you have reviewed the following information -  below - and find yourself interested in volunteering please e-mail Ned Harris at [email protected] with your contact information (name, phone#, & e-mail address) or you can call Ned at (860) 634-3734 if you have any questions.

The background to our situation is similar to that which many restaurants find themselves.  We operate one of the largest fish fries in the metro area and are not certain we will have sufficient staff to serve all our customers.

We hope parishioners and friends of the Knights will volunteer to help us.  The jobs and times (Fridays only) we need help are:

  • Event Setup (2 to 4 PM)
    • We take over the Cafetera about 2pm from the school and need to move and setup our configuration of tables, chairs and equipment before the 4pm opening.
  • Order Fulfillment  (3:30 to 7:00PM)
    • A group of staff are assigned on-line orders to be fulfilled by walking through the service lines and deliver them to the bagging table.
  • Food Service Line Staff  (3:30 to 7:00PM)
    • We maintain three 25’ runs of tables (buffet style) from which our food is served. Our staff will fill the plates and containers as the customers move past.
  • Order Runners  (3:30 to 7:00PM)
    • Once an online order is placed into bags, the order runners either deliver the order upstairs to the distribution center or deliver the orders to the customer’s vehicles.
  • Cleanup Crew (approximately 7:00 to 9PM)   
    • The cleanup crew is responsible for converting Bollinger Hall back to the condition and configuration on which we accepted it 2pm. This includes; sweeping/mopping floors, washing equipment, wiping down tables and tabletops, storing inventory and equipment.

      • downstairs in Bollinger Hall;
    2.  Online Order Pick-Up
      • in the Front parking lot and we will be fulfilling orders from tables in the upstair vestibule.
